The ipSentry SNMP Add-In provides you with the ability to send the ipSentry SNMP Trap notifications to SNMP trap receivers on your network.
From the
Entry Editor, select the Alerts tab, then the Add-In Tab, click Add and select the
SNMP Monitor and Alert.
Click on the Configure button.
SNMP Trap Alerting Configuration - General Settings
After selecting to Configure Add-in from the alert add-in configuration, you will be presented with the SNMP Trap Alert Configuration options.
Host IP Address
Enter the host IP Address(es) to which the SNMP trap should be sent.
You may enter one or more addresses separated by a comma (,)Port
Enter the port number to which the trap should be sent.Agent IP Address
You may override the IP Address for trap generation by providing an address in this field. The default value is the address of the local hostSNMP Version
Select the SNMP Message Version to be used when sending this trap (V1 or V2c).V1/V2c Community
For SNMP V1 and SNMP V2c, enter the community name if required. Typical values are "public" or "private". The default value is "public"Trap Message
Enter a customized textual message (which may include ipSentry keywords) for the description sent within this trap.
The maximum length allowed will be 4096 bytes, so any keyword expansions along with literal message data will be truncated to 4096 if the message length exceeds this value.The SNMP Trap sent by the SNMP Add-in is outlined in rgeinc-ipsentryv4-mib.my distributed with this add-in.
